In 2009, I earned a Ph.D. in English from the University of Mississippi. My dissertation took a Lacanian/Žižekian approach to the role of intended audience in facilitating the development of first-year writing students' critical-thinking skills. For the last three years, I have taught composition almost exclusively through think-pair-share clicker questions to remove myself as the source of knowledge and increase student engagement and responsibility. As Faculty Development Analyst at Austin Peay State University's Center for Teaching and Learning, I develop, coordinate, and assess teaching and leadership programs and facilitate course redesigns.
